Privacy Policy

Last updated: [08 2026]

SolarPestGuard (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website https://solarpestguard.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from visitors and customers, how we use it, who we share it with, how we protect it, and what rights you have over your data.

By using our Site or making a purchase, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or place an order.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us directly

  • Contact details: name, shipping address, billing address, email address, and (optionally) phone number.
  • Order details: products purchased, quantities, and price.
  • Payment information: processed entirely by our payment providers (see section 3). We never see, store, or handle your full card details on our own servers.
  • Customer service correspondence: any messages you send us via email or contact form, including anything you attach.

Information we collect automatically

  • Device and browser information: IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring page.
  • Usage data: pages you view, links you click, and how long you stay on the Site.
  • Cookies and similar technologies (see section 5).

2. How we use your information

We use your information only for the purposes below:

  • Process and fulfil your order — including sharing your name and address with our shipping carrier so they can deliver the parcel.
  • Send transactional emails — order confirmations, dispatch notifications with tracking, and delivery updates.
  • Provide customer support and respond to your enquiries.
  • Prevent fraud and keep the Site secure.
  • Comply with legal obligations such as tax records and consumer-protection requirements.
  • Improve our products, Site, and service based on aggregated (anonymised) usage patterns.
  • Send marketing emails about new products, offers, or updates — only if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any marketing email.

3. Third parties who process data on our behalf

We work with a small number of trusted providers to run the Site and fulfil orders. Each one processes only the minimum data they need for their specific task:

  • Payment processors (such as Stripe, Apple Pay, Google Pay): to process your payment securely. They receive your payment details directly and are certified to PCI-DSS standards.
  • Shipping carriers: to deliver your order. They receive your name and shipping address only.
  • Email service provider: to send transactional emails (order confirmations, dispatch notifications).
  • Website analytics (e.g. Google Analytics or a privacy-focused equivalent): anonymised traffic statistics to help us improve the Site.
  • Hosting provider: our servers store the Site and its data.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes. Ever.

4. Data retention

We keep order and customer records for as long as needed to fulfil the order and comply with tax, accounting, and consumer-protection laws — typically 6–7 years in most jurisdictions. Marketing consent records are kept while you remain subscribed. Contact-form messages are kept for up to 24 months after we last hear from you, then deleted.

5. Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device that help the Site work correctly. We use:

  • Essential cookies: required for the shopping cart, checkout, and secure sessions. These cannot be disabled if you want to place an order.
  • Analytics cookies: to understand how visitors use the Site (anonymised). You can decline these via our cookie banner.
  • Marketing cookies (if enabled): to measure the performance of any advertising campaigns.

You can manage or delete cookies via your browser settings at any time. Disabling essential cookies will prevent you from placing an order.

6. Your rights

Depending on your country, you have some or all of the following rights over your personal data:

  • Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate or out of date.
  • Deletion (“right to be forgotten”): ask us to delete your data, subject to any legal retention requirements.
  • Portability: request your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
  • Objection: object to certain uses of your data, such as marketing.
  • Withdrawal of consent: withdraw consent to marketing at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@solarpestguard.com with your request. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, our legal bases for processing your data are:

  • Performance of a contract — fulfilling the order you placed with us.
  • Legitimate interests — fraud prevention, security, and improving our Site.
  • Consent — for marketing and non-essential cookies.
  • Legal obligation — tax records and consumer-protection compliance.

If you are located in California, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know, delete, and opt out of the “sale” of your personal information. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.

7. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption across the entire Site, encrypted payment processing through PCI-DSS-certified providers, and restricted internal access. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

Our Site is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under this age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Substantial changes will be noted on the Site homepage for at least 30 days.
